Festival Luxembourgeois - Elsy Jacobs - Race Overview

ORICA-AIS leave Luxembourg with two stage podiums and third on the overall. Neo-pro Nettie Edmondson powered her way to third on the opening prologue with saw the Australian outfit place four riders in the top ten ahead of the first road stage. A group of 20 contested the stage one sprint in Garnich where Emma Johansson finished fifth on the stage to move up to second overall, 4" ahead of Marianne Vos (Rabobank Liv/Giant). Amanda Spratt gave the Australian outfit a second option, tied on time with Johansson in third overall. The race would be decided by stage two, where Johansson finished third. In large part due to bonus seconds, the overall podium mirrored the stage two podium with Vos taking top honours ahead of Bronzini and Johansson.

“We did a good job to finish on the podium again. We’re riding better each race. It’s quite nice to have Nettie in the mix now. With a bit more practice, she’s going to be great in a proper sprint train.” - Emma Johansson
