Another product of the Australian Sport Institute, Melissa made the jump from the Australian Institute of Sports to the professional cycling ranks in January 2012 with ORICA-AIS. She spent her time split between the road and the track, where she was part of Australia’s Olympic team pursuit squad.  An endurance racer on the track, Mel is the team’s designated sprinter for flat finishes.

The 2012 U23 Australian National Criterium Champion is a former Junior World Team Pursuit Champion, multiple-time Australian National Champion on the track in both the junior and senior ranks, and boosts GreenEDGE’s first overall victory with the 2012 Jayco Bay Cycling Classic series. Melissa’s 2012 season highlights include the Tour of Chongming Island overall victory along with wins on the first and third stage of the three-day stage race 

In addition to her impressive individual accolades, Melissa is a proven team player who relishes in the bonds she creates with her track and road teammates.
