RACE PREVIEW – Milan-San Remo

Milan-San Remo
Italy 🇮🇹
Saturday 18th March

Matteo Sobrero:
“I am very happy to be at Milan-San Remo, one of the most important races of the season and one of the symbolic races of Italian cycling. As usual it will be a long day and a demanding challenge that will probably light up in the finale with the ascent of the Poggio.

I know the roads of Liguria that line the sea very well, I often train there during the winter. I’m coming into the race from a tough but good Paris-Nice for me, and I’m ready to take my chances this weekend.”

Mathew Hayman (Sport Director):
“With the change of race schedule for Michael Matthews, we have to change the team tactics. We have Matteo Sobrero coming into the team after showing some great form during Paris-Nice and it will be exciting to see how deep he can go in the final of this Monument on home soil.

We also have Luka Mezgec and Zdeněk Štybar, who have both contested the final of this race in the past, and they will be looking for any opportunity they can get.”
