Team Jayco-AlUla kick-off Thüringen Ladies Tour with strong ride to second place in TTT

Team Jayco-AlUla kicked-off the Thüringen Ladies Tour with a strong ride to second place in the opening stage team time trial.

The squad mastered the tricky conditions in Schleiz to power around the 9.1km course in a time of 13’15” to move to the top of the provisional standings, with the Australian trio of Ruby Roseman-Gannon, Georgia Baker and Amber Pate racing across the line to stop the clock.

It was then a long and nervous wait in the hot seat as team after team attempted to better the time of the Australian outfit, but in the end it was SD Worx who took the stage honours with a time of 13’05”.

Despite missing out on the victory, Team Jayco-AlUla teed themselves up for the rest of the week in Germany as they look to take on the general classification and hunt stages.

Amber Pate:
“It was a short 9km circuit with two 1km climb and it made for an exciting first day. Although we had the aim of the win today, we had a solid team ride coming home with a close second place, 10 seconds behind Team SD Worx.

As a team we’ve had a strong start to the week and we are looking forward to the rest of the week to carry on this momentum.”
