In His Own Words: Christian Meier on Tour de Beauce - Stage 2

Thu 28 Jun 2012
Christian Meier, racing alongside Svein Tuft with the Canadian National Team, is back with his daily update from Tour de Beace.

Not too much to report from here today. After an active start to the race, a break of three riders slipped up the road. Usually a break like this would be pretty manageable to control, but the leading team never managed to assert that control, and two of the riders stayed clear to the finish.

Svein and I were focused on marking the main overall contenders during the start of the race. The rain and wind could have made for some difficult conditions. Once the break went away – and was clearly staying away – we tried to conserve where we could on very undulating terrain.

Tomorrow brings another difficult day with the stage finish up the mystic Mount Megantic. Can anyone tell me who from ORICA-GreenEDGE podiumed on this stage in 1996? Submit your answer via Facebook (on this post) or on Twitter (@Orica_GreenEDGE) before the stage start tomorrow (9:30AM EDT / 17:30 CET / 1:30AM AEST), and we’ll randomly select a winner from the correct answers to receive a GreenEDGE prize package.
