Rider Reaction Roundup After Tour of Slovenia - Stage Three

Thu 28 Jun 2012

After an exciting stage win from Daryl Impey yesterday in Slovenia, ORICA-GreenEDGE took a back seat to the climbers on stage three. The difficult day with more than 40 kilometers of climbing was good preparation from the mountain stages of the Tour de France, according to Sports Director Matt White. Without a lot to report about his riders today, White was thrilled to praise Michael Albasini for his stage win in Tour de Suisse and share an anecdote about a runaway bike that will feature in today’s Backstage Pass (so stay tuned!).

Rather than create a story where there’s not much to say, we thought we’d share rider reactions post-race as captured via Twitter.

Daryl Impey (@darylimpey): Second that: RT: @allandavis27 What a champion #roommate #teammate #bikerider Alba wins again he is one of the best in the world at the moment. Period!

Matt Goss (@mattgoss1986): Found out today that the profile pages of the Slovenia race book are definitely better for propping up wobbly tables than giving race info!

Michael Hepburn (@michael_hepburn): Loooooong day in Slovena. Long like a Giraffe. But awesome to hear that Alba won in Suisse! That guy is incredible.

Mitch Docker (@Mitch_Bowen): BIG day today, but plenty of company in the groupetto which got me through.

Sam Bewley (@SamBewley): Epic day in Slovenia. 6.5 hours and nearly 3500m of climbing. Got through in the groupetto and now looking forward to the TT tomorrow!!

Brett Lancaster / @bdlancaster and Jens Mouris / @jolige_jens were quiet from the conversation today. Travis Meyer is not (yet!) on Twitter.

Many of you have asked for a complete list of our riders on Twitter. We’ll have that for you early next week.
