Leading into the Santos Women’s Tour Etixx Sports Nutrition and ORICA-AIS are excited to announce a new partnership for the 2016 season.

Etixx has been a proud partner of the ORICA-GreenEDGE men’s team since 2015 and now the collaboration with ORICA-AIS will mean both the men’s and women’s teams can count on the products of Etixx Sports Nutrition.  The new partnership further cements the brand’s ambition to be the most trusted, credible brand of sports nutrition available to athletes in Australia.

Davy de Vlieger, CEO of Etixx Sports Nutrition said, “Our sponsorship strategy is not merely targeted toward raising brand awareness. Since day one, we have been placing efforts to improve our current range and to create new products. Our cooperation with top teams like ORICA-AIS is crucial as they provide us with the necessary feedback to ensure that the products fully meet the needs of our consumers.

Even though sports nutrition is basically the same for men and women, female cyclists have additional and specific nutritional needs that we want to address, this is why we will be actively present in women's cycling starting in 2016.”

Etixx Sports Nutrition has also recently partnered with Boels-Dolmans, Lensworld-Zannata-Etixx and Topsport Vlaanderen – Baloise Cycling team meaning we will have four teams in women's cycling.

ORICA-AIS arrived in Adelaide this week confident for a strong Tour after already achieving five wins in 2016. Recently crowned 2016 Australian champion Amanda Spratt will make her race debut in the green and gold jersey, and accompanying her is new Australian time trial champion Katrin Garfoot

ORICA-AIS sport director Gene Bates said “We are pleased to have Etixx on board as our new sports nutrition sponsor. As such a vital element in the management of elite athletes, we are looking forward to working with Etixx and ensuring optimal nutrition for best performance.”

Spratt said “It’s great to have a sponsor that works closely with us on the development of products for our needs. We’ve enjoyed sampling the different products already this season and look forward to benefitting from their knowledge even more throughout the season.”

Etixx Sports Nutrition is a major sponsor for the Santos Tour Down Under in 2016 and is also proud to be the main sponsor to the Etixx Women’s Forum with Santos Women’s Tour riders and Santos Women’s Tour Race Director Kimberly Conte to be held at the Adelaide City Council Tour Village on Wednesday 20th January from 5pm.

The Santos Women’s Tour begins on Saturday, 16 January with a lumpy road stage, whilst stage two on Sunday is raced on the criterium circuit prior to the men’s People’s Choice Classic. Stage three heads to the Barrossa Valley, before the fourth and final criterium challenge on Tuesday, 19 January.
