Mitchelton-BikeExchange with fresh impetus for part two of the Tour of China

Sun 16 Sep 2018

Two days after completing part one of the Tour of China, UCI Continental outfit Mitchelton-BikeExchange go into tomorrow’s part two with some fresh legs alongside Chinese road champion Niu Yikui.

After Niu Yikui and the team’s recent success over the first seven days of racing in China, the winner of the best Asian rider’s jersey on Saturday said that this week’s course will not suit him due to the two time-trials, but with Australian’s Kaden Groves and Sam Jenner both returning to action the team has further options.

Niu Yikui:

“There will be two individual time-trials in the Tour of China two, so I don’t expect a high overall result for myself, but I will do my best to help my team and after riding so well in part one we can go into this week’s race feeling positive.”

Former Team LottoNL-Jumbo stagiaire and talented time triallist Zhi Hui Jiang makes his first appearance for the team since Trophee Paris-Arras back in May and will be joined by compatriots Nazaerbieke Bieken and Liu Jiankun who both come direct from part one.

Team:

Nazaerbieke Bieken (CN, 24)

Kaden Groves (AUS, 19)

Zhi Hui Jiang (CN, 24)
