Taking place the same day as the men’s race ends the Tour of Guangxi Women’s Elite World Challenge forms part of a Chinese gala of world class cycling with ORICA-SCOTT excited to be taking part in the new event.

Former Australian national champion Gracie Elvin and OVO Energy Women’s Tour stage winner Sarah Roy head a strong line up for the new one-day UCI 1.1 WE race.

“Although the Tour of Guangxi falls at a late stage of the season,” said sport director Martin Barras. “We are looking forward to this new and exciting event and making a return to racing in China which will be our second visit this season.”

“China is fast embracing the sport of cycling and the surrounding area around the host city Guilin is spectacular, the Parcours for this particular race is pan flat and we expect a bunch sprint to be the likely outcome.

“Sarah and Gracie have both had excellent seasons and will enjoy the support of a strong team as we look to be well positioned for the final in what will certainly be a fast paced race.

“We venture into the unkown somewhat as it is a new event and at this late stage in the season it is hard to predict factors such as form and motivation regarding the competition.”

Australians Jenelle Crooks and Jess Allen complete the team alongside New Zealander Georgia Williams, providing the squad with strength and versatility in support of Elvin and Roy.
