Request for Expressions of Interest – Coach and Sports Scientist

The Performance Team at Mitchelton-SCOTT (GreenEDGE Cycling) is growing for 2019.

In an effort to improve the support provided to athletes, the Team is seeking expressions of interest from qualified persons to fill two separate roles:

  1. Coach
  2. Sport Scientist


Coach:
The coach is expected to have experience working with world class athletes, designing and implementing training programs and managing training camps. It is expected that the Coach will travel extensively with the Team, interacting with athletes and other support staff at training camps and races.

Sports Scientist:
The Sport Scientist is expected to identify and conduct performance related sport science projects, predominantly with the Men’s World Tour Team, however there will also be interactions with the Men’s Development Team and Women’s Professional Team.

Specific areas of research will depend on the successful applicant, though are likely to span the areas of Aerodynamics, Nutrition, Performance Analysis, Training Methodology and Environmental Physiology.

The sports science position is jointly funded by Edith-Cowan University in Australia. It is also expected that the successful applicant conducts collaborative research projects and student supervision within the university’s School of Medical and Health Studies.
