ORICA-GreenEDGE was on the hunt for stage wins at Bayern Rundfahrt with a squad of seven riders recently returned to racing after extended breaks. Daryl Impey delivered the desired result on stage two when he won a small group sprint and moved into the race lead. An ecstatic Impey dedicated the victory to his wife and newborn son before praising his teammates for their consistent commitment to results with whichever rider has the opportunity on any given day. While Impey's victory was an obvious and tangible highlight, the improved condition of all of the seven riders on the German Tour bodes well for future objectives during the second half of the season.
“Most importantly, I think we can see that this has been the perfect race to start back with the guys. Everyone has come out better than they came in, and it was nice to get a stage win." - Sport Director Laurenzo Lapage
