Boels Rental Ladies Tour
Stage 1: Zeddam's to Heerenberg - Stage Details

SwissEver GP Cham-Hagendorn winner Lizzie Williams has sprinted to ninth place on the opening stage of the Boels Rental Ladies Tour in Holland this afternoon.

After having no success forcing a break up in proceedings on the finishing circuits of the 110km course, ORICA-AIS focused their efforts on setting up Williams in the final, but an error in positioning cost the 32-year-old.

“The plan was to be aggressive,” sport director Gene Bates said. “We thought the circuit was going to be hard enough to be able to force a breakaway to the finish but there was just too many wide roads and too far in between the short climbs to make anything stick.”
