Circuit Cycliste Sarthe
Stage 4: Angers - Pré-en-Pail - Stage Details

Luke Durbridge started stage four of Circuit Cycliste Sarthe in the yellow race leader’s jersey. Despite their best efforts to control the difficult day of racing, ORICA-GreenEDGE could not keep the race together on the lumpy finishing circuit. Pierre Rolland (Europcar) took a solo victory in Pré-en-Pail to move into the race lead.

Following the stage three time trial, only 7" separated the top-ten and Durbridge was 1’30 ahead of the lantern rouge. By the end of stage four, Rolland had 10” over Jan Barta (NetApp-Endura) in second and nearly 29’24” over Danilo Napolitano (Accent Jobs-Wanty) in last place.

“Cam finished behind the first chase group, so in the end our results were nothing special today. It’s easy to feel disappointed because we had wanted a certain outcome, but I’m proud of the work they did.” - Sport Director Lionel Marie
