2018 recruit Mikel Nieve has won his first race for Mitchelton-SCOTT to take the team’s tally to five stage wins at the 2018 Giro d’Italia.

The Basque rider, who worked tirelessly for his leaders Simon Yates and Esteban Chaves in the first 19 days, tooks his first opportunity on stage 20 to win solo from the breakaway.
