The only women’s Grand Tour, the Giro d'Italia Internazionale Femminile, wrapped up today, ORICA-AIS finishing with five top-ten places across the ten-day Tour.
Wrapping up a week that saw Scandolara finish a narrow second on stage three and Katrin Garfoot miss out on a time trial podium by less than a second, Bates was pleased with the team’s endeavours.
“I was pretty pleased with the week,” Bates said. “We didn’t get a stage win but the really positive thing was that the girls kept putting themselves in the situation where they could win. They were really challenging for the victory on numerous occasions."
