GP de Plouay-Bretagne - WC - Race Overview

Swedish champion Emma Johansson has finished sixth at the final UCI World Cup event of the season, the GP de Plouay-Bretagne this afternoon.

Johansson made a ten-rider split with 30km to ride but was outnumbered four to one by the powerful Rabobank line up.

Lucinda Brand (RBW) won solo after an attack from the break in the final ten kilometres.

Sport director Brian Stephens conceded that the sheer weight in numbers was too much for 30-year-old Johansson to contend with.

“We were up against it a little bit because Rabobank had such a strong team,” Stephens said.
