The 13th round of the Women's WorldTour series, Prudential RideLondon Classique, concluded with a large bunch sprint on The Mall in London this evening with former Australian criterium champion Sarah Roy battling into 17th place for ORICA-AIS.
The aggressive race saw numerous breakaway attempts but coming in at just 66kilometres in length, the technical city-centre circuit suited the power of Kirsten Wild (Hitec-Product) who took the victory.
"The girls all did a good job today," explained sport director Gene Bates. "They all gave everything they had, helped to put Roy into a good place coming into the finish and took the pressure off her as much as they could."
