Tour de Suisse
Stage 9: Bad Ragaz - Flumserberg (ITT) - Stage Details

An atypical individual time trial settled the general classification. Although only 26.8 kilometres in length, the time trial ended with 10.3 uphill kilometres with a nine percent average gradient. The brutal profile required some creativity. Meyer crossed the finish line in 52’54. By stage end, the time was good for 15th place, 1’48 behind Costa. More importantly, it secured his spot in the top ten overall.

“This is very different than a normal time trial. We went in with the plan to do a bike change. I rode a time trial bike for the first part of the course and then switched to a road bike at the bottom of the climb. We also had a special guest to help with the bike change. Michael Albasini has a friend that is a professional bobsledder. He rode in the car with us, and after we switched bikes, he ran with me to push me uphill. It was pretty awesome to have him help out the team.” - Cameron Meyer
