Tour of Britain
Stage 5: Tendring (TT) - Stage Details

26-year-old Luke Durbridge finished in tenth place on today’s individual time trial stage at the OVO Tour of Britain.

In his first race back since crashing out of the Tour de France, the former Australian champion showed his time trailing class to race in to the top ten on the flat 16kilometre event in Clacton-on-sea.

After two months without racing, Durbridge was satisfied with his performance after a lot of rehabilitation to get back into good condition.

“I was surprised with today as it is my first race back,” explained Durbridge. “I had to work hard in that period off racing, so I am happy with today to get a bit of confirmation in myself, especially in a time trial. It is good knowing I am not too far away from where I know I can be.”
