Tour of Great Britain
Stage 8: Reigate - Guildford - Stage Details

Jack Bobridge played the main antagonist on stage eight, featuring first in a four-rider break. When the early break was brought back over the day’s final categorized climb, Bobridge drove a second breakaway that formed on the descent. He launched one last attack when his second escape group was reeled in by the bunch and managed to hold off the bunch until the last 13 kilometers.

With stage eight ending in a bunch sprint, the general classification remained relatively unchanged. Howard ended the eight days of racing in fourth place.

Jack [Bobridge] was pretty keen at the start of the stage to finish the week off on a high. It’s amazing what he can do when he’s motivated. [...] He was strong today. It took the whole bunch to bring him back." - Leigh Howard
