Stage 8: Schaffhausen - Schaffhausen - Stage Details

Vuelta a España winner Magnus Cort has quickly bounced back from injury to sprint to fourth place on today’s short penultimate stage in the Tour de Suisse

The 100kilometre circuit race in the centre of Schaffenhausen was animated by an early breakaway of four riders but eventually concluded with a predicted bunch sprint won by Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe).

With a change of plan decided out on the road, sport director Neil Stephens was pleased with the final stage result given Cort's ease back into racing.

“We started the day off with one plan and then went to another,” said Stephens. “During the stage Michael Albasini decided that he wasn’t really up for trying to go for the sprint result today.”
