An inexperienced ORICA-AIS line up has fought gallantly to seventh position at the UCI Road Cycling World Championship team time trial in Richmond, Virginia today.
It was a new look line up for the Australian outfit that had just one rider from last year’s silver medal winning performance last year in Amanda Spratt.
2015 debutants Macey Stewart, at just 19 years of age, and Sarah Roy rode their first and second ever event in the team time trial discipline whilst Lizzie Williamsrode just her third.
“Our ride today was actually quite good all things considered,” sport director Gene Bates said. “We got the best we could out of our riders.”
