UCI TT World Championships Men - Race Overview

Riding for home nation Canada, ORICA-GreenEDGE’s Svein Tuft has finished 28th  in the men’s individual time trial at the UCI Road Cycling World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain this afternoon.

Backing up from a silver medal winning effort in the team time trial on Sunday, Tuft was the sole ORICA-GreenEDGE representative in the individual race against the clock.

In contrast to Sunday’s race the 37-year-old started strongly, ranked 19th at the first immediate time check.  By the third checkpoint he had dropped to 33rd but recovered much like in the team event to stop the clock in 28th position.

Tuft completed the 41.7km course in 59minutes 43.70seconds at an average speed of 47.314, three minutes 18.18seconds behind gold medalist Bradley Wiggins (GBR) who won in 56minutes 25.52seconds.
