Vuelta a España
Stage 10: Torredelcampo - Güéjar Sierra. Alto Hazallanas - Stage Details

It was a day for the overall contenders at the Vuelta a España. Chris Horner (RadioShack Leopard Trek) won stage ten atop Alto Hazallanas. The American launched a powerful acceleration inside the final 5km to break away from a select group of climbers and overall contenders. His efforts put him back in the red leader’s jersey with a lead of 52” over Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) in second place.

Christian Meier and Simon Clarke were the top finishers for ORICA-GreenEDGE, coming in with a group 20’27 behind Horner. Meier was 68th across the line and Clarke was 86th.

"As I mentioned it would be in our race preview, today was a combination of survival mode plus conserve as much as possible. Tuesday is a rest day, and Wednesday is the individual time trial. Sam [Bewley] will give it a crack in the TT, but for the rest of the team, it’s almost another rest day. The two days following are really good for us, and we’re focused on being at our best later in the week." - Sport Director Matt Wilson
