Vuelta a España
Stage 20: Avilés - Alto de L´Angliru - Stage Details

The team was in survival mode on the Angliru. With Madrid in sight, getting Michael Matthew's up for a stage win on Sunday has become a renewed focus. Kenny Ellisonde ( was the lone survivor from the early break, soloing to stage victory ahead of a fast-closing Chris Horner (RadioShack-Leopard-Trek). The battle for the overall resumed with Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) throwing several punches en route to the finish. Despite Nibali's efforts, Horner extended his lead overall his Italian rival and has all but won the Vuelta.

"For most of the team, it was a matter of survival. It was “How can I get through this?” At this stage in a Grand Tour, everything is harder than it is at the beginning. Our goal was to support our guys in getting to the final stage in the best condition to give Bling [Michael Matthews] a shot at the stage win in Madrid." - Sport Director Matt Wilson
