Vuelta Ciclista a la Region Murcia - Race Overview

Chris Juul Jensen sprinted to seventh place at the 37th Vuelta Ciclista a la Region de Murcia today, jumping out of the chasing bunch to claim a top ten finish for ORICA-SCOTT.

A tough 182.7kilometre race unfolded with New Zealander Sam Bewley animating the early breakaway alongside two companions before being caught at the halfway mark.

Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) attacked soon after the Bewley trio had been neutralized and after developing a significant advantage over the peloton the Spaniard held off the chasers and soloed to victory.

After a string of solid performances in the recent Tour of Valencia, 27-year-old Juul Jensen impressed on Spanish roads again today, forming part of the late chasing group behind Valverde and displaying a decent kick to the line in the race for second place.

“Chris Juul Jensen did really well,” said Sport director Laurenzo Lapage. “He is showing some form now and after getting into the chasing group he worked very hard for a top ten finish.”
